Executive Director

General Description

To serve as the Executive Director of Hope Women’s Centers with responsibility for the organization’s consistent ministry achievements and financial objectives within the scope of the mission, vision and policies set by the Board of Directors. 

Supervision

The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors.

Supervises

The services, programs, operations, and staff of Hope Women's Centers.

Qualifications

  1. A Christian demonstrating a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior
    and Lord. And an active member in a local church

  2. Unwavering commitment to the pro-life position in all circumstances

  3.  In agreement with Hope’s Statements of Faith, Principle, and Mission

  4. Has a vision for and calling to the position

  5. Past success working with Board of Directors

  6. Superior writing, speaking, and communication skills. Ability to persuade, inspire,
    and motivate people

  7. Excellent ability to work with people

  8. Strong problem-solving and administrative competence with ability to supervise
    personnel and maintain a positive team environment

  9. Proficiency in computer skills, including social media

  10. Bachelor’s degree in management, business, social work, or equivalent
    experience

  11. Two years’ experience in meeting and communicating with the public and media

  12. Two years’ experience in non-profit leadership, including fundraising and
    development

  13. Flexible schedule for occasional evening and weekend work

Role and Duties

General:

  1. To make prayer an integral part of daily life, both in practice and by example.

  2. To understand that Hope Women's Centers is a Christian organization, and that the employees and volunteers of Hope Women's Centers act in a role similar to that of

    ministers, missionaries, and Bible teachers.

  3. To follow policies and procedures to ensure consistent operations in all centers.

 

Vision and Strategy:

  1. Carry out the vision and mission set forth by the board. Bringing the board, donors, partners, and community in step with the vision and mission

  2. Ensure an organizational culture where staff and volunteers understand and support the vision and mission, and are equipped with the tools to carry it out

  3. Alongside the board, develop current ongoing strategic plans with annual goals

  4. Oversee and implementation of strategic initiatives for the organization including goals for patient engagement, volunteer recruitment and development, donor development, etc.

  5. Continued personal and professional development to stay on the cutting edge of pregnancy resource initiatives, the political environment, national and regional trends, etc.

  6. Present in the administrative office with regular visits to the medical clinics to stay current with client engagement, staff and volunteer morale, and other daily operational activities

Operations:

  1. Develop operational and capital budgets to meet ministry goals and objectives. Oversee ministry budget and expenditures incurred

  2. Spiritually nurture and lend managerial direction to build the team concept, accomplish the ministry’s goals, and help staff to reach their potential

  3. Serve as a non-voting member of the Board of Directors and as a member of all board committees as requested

  4. Implement the organization’s policies and procedures

  5. Formulate and revise operational policies and procedures as approved by the board

 

Management and Supervision:

  1. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and when necessary, dismiss paid staff

  2. Conduct regular staff meetings and regular meetings with direct reports to stay on progress towards goals, provide encouragement, and identify areas of improvement

  3. Provide adequate opportunities for the continuing education and training for staff

  4. Oversee the execution of the training programs of Hope Women’s Centers Provide teaching, training, and direction when necessary

  5. Conduct annual staff evaluations and ensure that all HR policies are followed

  6. Train volunteer team to assist with events, as needed


Fundraising and Development:

  1. Oversee direct mail, major events, and church support

  2. Develop and execute church and business development program designed to raise financial and prayer support, recruit volunteers, and build general support for ministry

  3. Communicate with ministry partners and community through, annual report, and direct mail

  4. Oversee execution of annual SOHL, Legacy Partners Dinner, and Baby Bottle Campaign

  5. Assist with planning and implementation of regular volunteer appreciation

Public Relations and Marketing:

  1. Oversee the budgeting and implementation of marketing and advertising for Hope Women’s Centers, including traditional and web-based strategies

  2. Be the face of the organization

  3. Consistently pursue opportunities to speak for Hope Women’s Centers and convey the pro-life message in print, electronic, and broadcast media and at community and industry-relevant events

  4. Oversee the planning, writing, production, and distribution of all written materials

  5. Develop and maintain good relationships with media representatives. Serve as the primary spokesperson for Hope

  6. Be present at community events when needed

  7. Build relationships with community leaders and other pregnancy centers

  8. Network with church and public and private agencies providing services to women and children, as needed

Reporting:

  1. Provide monthly updates, as needed, to the Board of Directors

  2. Maintain clear and good notes in Ekyros regarding communication

  3. Work with bookkeeper regarding FPCN reporting and narratives

  4. Send regular staff emails to foster unity and good communication

  5. Oversee and report biweekly staff hours and PTO to bookkeeper for payroll

  6. Conduct regular one-on-ones with administrative staff

  7. Conduct biweekly administrative meetings
