Sonographer (RDMS)

Objectives of the position:

The Sonographer (RDMS) of Hope Women's Centers provides limited obstetrical ultrasound
exams under the supervision of the Medical Director and the Nurse Manager. It can be full-time
or part-time, according to a regular schedule established by the Executive Director. The ideal candidate will be a strong servant-leader, a self-starter, highly organized, with excellent communication skills. Candidate must be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; must exhibit a strong commitment to the pro-life position, must exhibit a strong commitment and dedication to the sanctity of all human life, and must exhibit a strong commitment to sexual purity. Must agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Faith and policies of Hope Women’s Centers.

Supervision: The Sonographer will be under the supervision of the Nurse Manager. There will be a yearly written and oral evaluation as well as regular Medical meetings.

Requirement and Qualifications:

1. Be a committed Christian who has and demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ as Savior and Lord, as defined in the Bible.
2. Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position, to sexual purity, and to
complete confidentiality.
3. Sign prior to hire that you agree with and will uphold the Statement of Faith, the
Statement on Marriage and Sexuality, the Statement on the Family, and our Statement
of Principle and Core Values.
4. Agree with and uphold the Policies and Procedures of the organization as outlined in the
most current edition of the board-approved Policies and Procedures Manual.
5. Be an active affiliate of a local Bible-believing church, and provide a pastor reference
along with the employment application.
6. Be currently licensed as an ultrasound technician in the State of Florida.
7. Has RDMS current license and OB Registry.
8. Be trained and certified to provide limited obstetrical ultrasounds.
9. Exhibit strong interpersonal and administrative skills.
10. Be able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision.
11. Employees are required to participate in and/or lead staff devotional times, prayer times,
and Bible studies as requested.
12. Ability to work with a multi-generational staff
13. Committed to working as a team player as a part of a unified staff 

Roles and Duties

Medical Services Operations:

  • To make prayer an integral part of daily life, both in practice and by example.

  • To understand that Hope Women's Centers is a Christian organization, and that the

  • employees and volunteers of Hope Women's Centers act in a role similar to that of

  • ministers, missionaries, and Bible teachers.

  • To follow policies and procedures to ensure consistent operations in all centers.

  • To provide limited obstetrical ultrasounds according to medical standards of care.

  • To provide patient pregnancy counseling, education, and referrals.

  • To document clinical findings, observations, and medical care notes in the patient

  • record.

  • To review any clinical findings indicating concern with the Nurse Manager and/or the

  • Medical Director.

  • To provide training in limited obstetrical ultrasounds for nurses and test for competency.

Patient Care:

  • To review patient record to ensure that all appropriate forms are in the chart.

  • To meet with the patient and review instructions and medical procedure to be performed.

  • To place physician Order and Exam Report in the record.

  • To provide support to other medical staff, including chaperoning exams.

  • To be available to meet with patient after exam for pregnancy counseling, education and

  • referrals.

  • To prepare patient Care Plans and arrange and provide for patient follow-up.

  • To handle emergency phone calls. (refer caller to a local hospital emergency room, their

  • own physician, and/or advise them to call 911).

  • To handle emergency situations with a current patient. (consult with the Medical

  • Director).

  • To handle an emergency situation on-site. (call 911 and follow the Policies and

  • Procedures for Medical Emergencies.)

General Staff Duties:

  • To comply with state and professional continuing education requirements.

  • To annually renew the CPR certification.

  • To annually review Policies and Procedures, infection control regulations, and safety

  • procedures.

  • Attend all prayer times and staff meetings

  • Attend all Hope events (SOHLS, Legacy Partners Dinner, Walk for Life) and any other

  • events as needed by ED

  • Commit to being an active learner and staying educated about the life issue

  • To assess and evaluate the performance of any medical volunteers.

  • To be available to the clinic staff for medical questions.

  • To maintain personnel records for any medical volunteers.
