Thanksgiving in Action

This is the fourth article in a series about the various ways that local churches are blessing our clients and demonstrating the love of God to a hurting world by their actions, not just by their words. Love is an action verb!

A few days before Thanksgiving, First Church of Coral Springs called to say they had food baskets for our  clients. Then we got a call from Church by the Glades in Coral Springs, asking if we had families who could use a little extra help with a Thanksgiving meal. Of course, we knew lots of people who needed help! They told us to come over and pick up whatever we needed at their Feed the City Event.

Thanks to the generosity of these churches, we were able to provide food boxes and gift certificates for turkeys for 32 families, and Publix gift cards for an additional 20 families. We saw God’s love in action as these churches  demonstrated thanks giving by their actions!

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35
